Seeking someone special
For Those Who Would is searching for an individual who is passionate about helping others to add to our team. The Communications Director will hold a voting position on the For Those Who Would Board of Directors and will be responsible for leading and managing external communications with the general public. The Director will provide strategic guidance related to our mission and substantial hands-on activities that help us meet our mission. Time commitment is estimated to initially be approximately 1-2 hours per week.
Responsibilities of the Communications Director
- In conjunction with other Board Directors, establish and maintain a communications plan for For Those Who Would
- Advise the Board on issues of external communications
- Participate in Board of Director meetings
- Work closely with Board president to enhance the visibility of For Those Who Would
- Manage For Those Who Would social media accounts
- Write and publish For Those Who Would website news articles
- As appropriate, collaborate with other organizations and media outlets to enhance the visibility of For Those Who Would
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements of a successful candidate
- A strong belief in our mission of making meaningful impact in others’ lives
- A desire to be altruistic
- A willingness to volunteer personal time for the good of others
- A positive persona in online and offline interactions with others
- Excellent written communication skills
- Excellent grasp of social media tools including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter
- Ability to work within a diverse team environment
