Our Athletes

For those who would
by those who can.

Lori Danko

Those who know me can tell you I have always loved being active, and I’m definitely not afraid to try new things. When I began obstacle course racing 3 years ago, I fell in love with it immediately!  For me, obstacle course racing very much mimics life.  Obstacles are thrown at us all the time, challenging our will to persevere.  I have learned from the countless number of family members and friends dealing with illness and disease that backing down is not an option.

I, myself, am a cancer survivor, a Crohn’s Disease warrior, and an advocate for living every day to the fullest.  I am blessed beyond belief with supportive people around me, cheering me on through successes and setbacks.  Racing, and the training that comes with it, has given me an escape from illness, and a reason to become strong again.

For Those Who Would is the best of my worlds coming together.  When I am on the course I’m thinking about those who struggle with life’s obstacles, and those who never ever quit, despite the circumstances. Those are the people who inspire me and keep me going when I’m exhausted.  Now, I am blessed to be able to honor those who have kept me strong.  This isn’t about me.  It’s about the will and desire for anyone to have the opportunity to be the best they can be.
